FarmVille2: The Winter Fishing Tournament! (Official Guide)

What a blast everyone had at the last fishing tournament! It was so much fun that Walter wants to organize another fishing tournament, of course with the help of Gus!
So, here’s another chance for you to compete with other farmers to see who’s on top of their fishing game while also trying to beat your own personal score! Be part of this contest by building the Winter Fishing Tournament Shack on your farm. There’s a baby Chestnut Baluchi Horse, a Diamond Shovel and other cool prizes waiting to be won!

If you are level 15 or higher, the “The Winter Fishing Tournament!” popup will appear. Click on the “Place Building” button to begin the feature.
You must first collect the materials you need to start building the Winter Fishing Tournament Shack.

Next, ask your friends for help or hire builders.

The finished Winter Fishing Tournament Shack, which you can place anywhere in your farm, will look like this:

And the finished Winter Fishing Tournament Spot, which is automatically placed in the river, will look like this:

Access the feature by clicking on the Winter Fishing Tournament Shack or the fishing spot. You can see from the menu that there are four types of fish that you can catch from four different area of the river. When making a choice of which fish to catch, take note of the weight of each fish.

Groundbait
After choosing which fish to catch, you must first prepare the area with Groundbait by clicking on the “Prep Area” button.

You will then be crafting the Groundbait that you will use. There are three Groundbait tabs to choose from: Catch 3 Fish using Premium GroundbaitCatch 2 Fish using Special Groundbait, and Catch 1 Fishusing Basic Groundbait.

In need of materials to use for crafting? No problem!  For the bait, you can get them by harvesting fertilized water crops. While for the Limburger Cheese and Toasted Bread Crumbs, you can always ask your friends for help by clicking on the Post and Ask buttons.

Before you can proceed to fish, you need to wait for a while for fish to come to your prepped fishing spot. Take note that each fishing area differs in the amount of time it takes to become teeming with fish!

After the Fishing Spot is ready, you can proceed to catch fishes by clicking on the “Go Fishing” button.

The fish you caught will then be weighed to get the total Tournament Points.

Keep track of how many Tournament Points you’ve earned by checking the counter at the lower left portion of the results screen.

You will start earning rewards when you reach milestones in the tournament. The yellow bar will mark your progress.

Win the 1st Milestone Reward - Queensland Red Cedar Tree, to qualify and compete in the Winter Fall Fishing Tournament.

After winning the 1st Milestone Reward, the Scoreboard will appear in the upper left portion of the menu.

Click on the “View More” button to see the Scoreboard details.

To see the rankings of the farmers who are leading the tournament, check the left side of the Scoreboard. At the end of the tournament, the top 3 farmers will get great rewards!

To view your personal score, check the right side of the Scoreboard. Your personal score records the points you get for each type of tournament fish you catch. You’ll get rewards when you earn the highest points for each fish!

Ragworms
When you first enter the tournament you will be given Ragworms to use for fishing.

These Ragworms are used to lure larger fish so you earn more Tournament Points.

These Ragworms last for only 24 hours, so use them wisely!
